Kraken's Curse | Exam Review Game for Middle and High School

$9.99

This test review game turns exam prep into a whole-class strategy game your students will actually beg to play again.

The Kraken’s Curse is an editable Google Slides review activity where students track resources, survive pirate attacks, and answer YOUR questions, for any subject and any topic. Rival pirates attack. The Kraken appears. Resources run low. And somehow your students are reviewing content without even realizing it.

No-prep and ready to play: just type in your review questions, print the game boards, and let the chaos begin.

BADGES: Editable Google Slides + printable board | No prep | Grades 9-12 | Any subject

THIS PRODUCT INCLUDES:

  • Google Slides deck with 30 question slides and all event slides, with fully editable question boxes

  • Printable student game board with resource tracking and leaderboard ranking

  • Multi-page teacher guide with full rules, setup instructions, and a quick reference card

HOW IT WORKS:

  1. Hand out the boards. Each student gets a game board (great when laminated with dry-erase markers!).

  2. Answer correctly. Earn a resource.

  3. Rival pirates appear. Every sailor must choose: fire a cannon or lose a doubloon.

  4. The Kraken surfaces twice and raises the stakes even higher.

  5. Count it up. Most resources at the end earns the highest rank on the leaderboard.

THE KRAKEN’S LEADERBOARD:

  • Landlubber (0 to 5 pts)

  • Deckhand (6 to 12 pts)

  • Quartermaster (13 to 20 pts)

  • First Mate (21 to 28 pts)

  • Captain of the Seas (29+ pts)

WHO IS THIS FOR?

  • High school students (9th to 12th grade) in any subject

  • Classes where engagement is a constant battle: the pirate theme, the resource stakes, and the simultaneous answer reveal keep every student locked in for the full period

STUDENT EXPERIENCE:

  • Students track their own resources independently

  • Students make real strategic decisions (spend a cannon now or save it for the Kraken?)

  • Students stay engaged the entire period, with no dead time and no checking out

MAKE IT YOUR OWN:
Type in your own review questions, and the game works for any subject and any topic. Laminate the game boards and use dry-erase markers to reuse them all year.
